Jeremiah J. Ouimette
Jeremy Ouimette is an Associate Attorney at Ouimette & Runcie and has been practicing law in Vermont and New York for over 8 years. Jeremy’s practice focuses on Litigation, Real Estate transactions, Municipal Law and Zoning, as well as Wills & Estate Planning. He also handles the occasional criminal case and some traffic matters.
Jeremy was born and raised in North Ferrisburgh, Vermont, and grew up around his father’s law practice in Vergennes. He graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 2000 and received his Bachelor of Arts from Ithaca College in 2004 (B.A. 2004). Jeremy spent the following year working for law firms in Washington, D.C. and Ithaca, New York, then spent the next three years living in Japan teaching English and traveling all over Japan and Asia.
After returning to the United States in 2008, Jeremy enrolled in the Syracuse University College of Law. During Law School, Jeremy was an Associate Editor of the Syracuse Law Review, and also experienced success in moot court competitions both locally as well as in Boston, New York City and Toronto. He received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Syracuse in 2011 (J.D. 2011).
Following Law School, Jeremy practiced in the area of Wills & Estate Planning before transitioning into Criminal Defense and Litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants all over New York State. His experience includes appearances in over 200 different local and county courts in more than 30 distinct counties in New York. Jeremy returned home to Addison County to join Ouimette & Runcie in July of 2019.
When not at work, Jeremy enjoys basketball, swimming, riding bikes, lifting weights and shooting, as well as driving his car and riding his motorcycle. Since returning to Vermont, Jeremy has been actively involved in coaching youth basketball and swimming.
Jeremy resides in Ferrisburgh with his wife Sunshine and their two children.
